How have you been my luvs? I've been fabulous! Do any of you watch the I Dream of NeNe? Gurrl! The show is real super cute! Like Nene, I also have an aunt named Nena. I may have to do an ancestry.com to see if we are related. Anyhow, for her wedding she ordered a $15k wedding cake from NY that's being flown in on first class. She bettah werk hunnie! Publix cakes are real cute and taste good too. If I was at her party, I would save my slice of cake and try to pawn it.I'm kinda mad I didn't get an electronic invitation to her wedding. What I'm even more mad for, but in a good way is anything plaid. Plaid shoes and shirts for both men and women are back in style. In this episode I show you why I'm "Mad 4 Plaid".
MAD 4 PLAID
Anyone remember the show Blossom? If not please Google. Now that you're back.Even before I ever saw a well built, crew cut, lesbian loading her truck up with stacks of 2x4's from the Home Depot. The show Blossom opened my eyes to this fabric called plaid. Specifically it was Joey "whoa", one of Blossoms brothers who had a grunge kinda vibe. Joey lived to wear his ripped jeans, oversized t-shirt and of course the plaid long sleeve shirt that was always tied around his waist. Now, plaid is back! In the examples I have below I paired a plaid dress 3 different ways. One look is day, the other evening and an optional daytime work or evening look. In the evening look, the half top black jacket is optional. This is all dependant on the weather or your comfort level. You can also substitute this for a tight fitting black vest. The whole idea is to create a more dramatic look. Also remember to find a half jacket thats made of lightweight material. Preferably faux leather. You are going to wear this jacket open unzipped, with the sleeves scrunched mid arm. The Third look, the belted dress, is more of an evening look. You can also turn this look out and make it a "work" day look. I used my fav color for accessories "gold". Gold just complements red plaid much better than silver.
It is my hope that these few pieces of fashion insight help you the next time you: put together, plan or purchase any type of outfit an accessory.
